Leading set-top box manufacturer
adds momentum to Asia’s VoD technology alliance
Singapore, October 12, 2006 - ANYTIME, Asia Pacific’s
leading Video on-Demand (VoD) channel, today announced that
Tatung IPTV BU, a subsidiary of Tatung Company has joined
the ANYTIME Technology Partner Program.
The ANYTIME Technology Partner Program is a collaboration
between ANYTIME and the world’s leading VoD technology
vendors. It aims to reduce the time to deploy secure, quality,
VoD services in Asia Pacific.
It allows technology vendors to come together and develop
best practices in delivering and marketing VoD services
and ensures process compliance and data flow compatibility
from publishing, to billing API’s, and royalty reporting.
Since 1997, Tatung IPTV BU has been a leading provider of
digital home solutions specializing in IP-based set-top
boxes (STB). With a strong emphasis on High Definition digital
STB design and manufacturing, the company is constantly
developing more flexible, differentiated client platforms
that can offer the widest possible range of services to
its customers. Tatung joins a growing number of the world’s
leading technology vendors including IBM, SecureMedia and
Verimatrix as members of the Program.
“We are very excited to be part of the ANYTIME Technology
Partner Program, said Luke Dang, General Manager of Tatung
IPTV BU. “This partnership will allow us to exchange
knowledge, share leads and most importantly, minimize the
time needed to deploy IPTV services to our target audience.”
According to research conducted by In-Stat, the Asia Pacific
market currently leads the world in IPTV adoption and infrastructure
development, and is expected to reach 39 million IPTV subscribers
by 20111. This is a key market for Tatung, and the collaboration
with ANYTIME will help the company to aggressively grow
its market share.
“We are constantly broadening our digital home solutions
for the Asian market. To keep ourselves abreast with technology,
it is essential that we align our company with a partner
that has the in-house expertise to review a range of IPTV
solutions,” added Dang.
“Tatung is the first set-top box manufacturer to join
the ANYTIME Technology Partner Program. This is an asset
to both ANYTIME and the existing members of the Program
as they can now work with the leading digital home solutions
provider to develop reliable reference architectures that
include the set-top box hardware,” said Chief Technology
Officer of ANYTIME, Craig Ginsberg. “The Program aims
to help Tatung stimulate the market and move it towards
IPTV
readiness by fine-tuning their service and go to market
strategies.”
The ANYTIME Technology Partner Program has two levels of
agreement – Technology compliance, and Cooperation
& Co-marketing. If accepted into the Program, vendors
can work with ANYTIME to ensure their products, services
or solutions, comply with the highest industry standards
for VoD content delivery.
The Program is open to STB manufacturers, middleware vendors,
Conditional Access and DRM hardware and software makers,
VoD server manufacturers, and Systems Integrators. It is
vendor agnostic, ensuring that Telcos, ISPs and Digital
Cable providers receive impartial advice and information
on VoD delivery technology.
